Choosing a sign can be difficult. Decisions, decisions, right? After all, you're basically deciding your character's fate! Still, there are a few rules to keep in mind.
• You can only choose one sign per character. I know, I know, it can be hard to decide, but there are no limits on how many characters you can take up! So feel free to make as many as you can handle.
• If you are having trouble figuring out the sign for your character, feel free to ask a staff member, either by PM, in the cbox, or in the Q&A board. We'd be more than happy to help you decide!
• Let's say you are determined to have your character be a Leo... yet their personality is weak, fragile, humble and shy. That's the opposite of loud, vain Leo, who loves to be the centre of attention! As a zodiac-themed RP, characters are supposed to fit the signs they are assigned to; so, unfortunately, we cannot accept a character into that zodiac group unless they are adapted to fit the sign's characteristics. On the other hand, this shy character might make a great Cancer or Pisces! It's best to keep an open mind when picking your sign. If you need help, you can always ask a staff member for help.
No Mary/Gary Sues. These terms describe characters who are very paper-thin, superficial, and undoubtedly perfect at everything- in other words, cliche. They are absolutely flawless, incredibly irritating, and really boring. If you want to know if your character is a Mary Sue, there are various quizzes online that you can use, such as this one.
• Neither your character, nor anyone else mentioned in your app, can be named after any pre-established series or character. For example, your character is not allowed to be named 'Harry Potter', they cannot have a brother named 'Ash Ketchum', they can't have a best friend named 'Sherlock Holmes'.
• Character applications should be written seriously. That is to say, if their biography sounds like it's been written on crack, there's a strong chance we won't accept it. Staff members have a right to refuse any application that they deem unacceptable. Biographies have an 80 word minimum; anything less can be refused by staff.
• In the character application, there is a table with three positive traits and three negative traits. These traits must be sourced from the sign's respective thread (which can be found here). When staff decides whether or not to approve your application, they will check the descriptive thread to make sure the traits match up. If they don't - even if the app is of top-quality - they will refuse your application immediately and ask that you revise your traits list.
• Luckily, there are 12 positive and 12 negative traits to choose from for each sign, and you only need to select 3 of each for your character! That's six of twenty-four suggested traits; you're sure to find some that match your character's personality. If not? Maybe that's not the sign for you! Maybe your fate lies under a different sign.
• In the 'Zodiac' section of the app, you will be asked for a password. The password is just to show staff that you have read the description for your sign, and can be found in their respective thread in the 'Zodiac Signs' board. If your application does not present the correct password, it will automatically be refused.
• If you're having trouble, you can always contact a staff member for help.
